Gin Bar Rules!

Let the fun be - gin!

"You are the Gin to my Tonic!"

We're happy for you to organise a Gin Bar at your drinks reception, here's how it works...

You're welcome to supply up to a maximum of 4 different types of Gin. Single measures of Gin will be poured over ice, into a Slim Jim Glass by our catering staff and handed to your wedding guests, who can then help themselves to mixers and any garnishes you supply.

The Gin Bar can only be open during your Drinks Reception.

We are happy to set up the Gin Station on one of our clothed trestle tables, inside or outside (weather dependent) but any decorative display items need to be supplied by you and dropped off at the venue the day before your wedding with all your other wedding day items.

If you would prefer to supply  your own bespoke serving station please discuss this with your Event Manager at the earliest opportunity. Your Events Manager will advise whether they can set this up for you on the morning of the wedding or whether you'll need to delegate this task.

Important - Please Let Us Know

It is important that you let both your venue and our catering partners, Jenkinsons, know if you are having a Gin Bar so that we can ensure the appropriate number of staff are available to man the Gin Bar throughout your Drinks Reception.

Please let us know a minimum of 30 days prior to your wedding date.

We would expect you to supply 2 other alternative alcoholic drinks which will be served to guests on trays, by the catering staff.

This would normally be prosecco or champagne with bottled beers. This ensures everyone gets served a drink quickly and avoids everyone heading to the Gin Bar simultaneously which would result in a queue (never ideal!)

Garnishes, Decor & More...

You need to supply any garnishes.

Here's just a few ideas:

  • Fresh Raspberries
  • Fresh Strawberries
  • Juniper Berries
  • Fresh Mint
  • Fresh Rosemary
  • Sliced Lemons
  • Sliced Limes
  • Sliced Cucumber

If you supply exotic containers for these garnishes Jenkinsons will use them. If not, Jenkinsons will display the garnishes on plain white crockery.

If you like the decorative items shown in all the pictures above, contact one of the amazing Venue Dressers featured on our Handpicked Suppliers List.

Yo, Ho, Ho and a Bottle of Rum

If  a Rum Bar if more your scene then that's fine with us, all the same rules outlined above apply.

Same goes for Vodka but we would not allow any other spirits to be served at your drinks reception.

Also please understand that you may only have one drinks station of this kind at your wedding.

We would strongly urge you to offer a maximum of three alcoholic drinks choices to guests during your drinks reception.  In our experience, offering a variety of different drinks results in a lot of waste and a slower drinks service.
